About Bayline
Tool management for machine shops, made by Fonnebust AS.
What Bayline is
Bayline is a shop-floor register for a small machine shop. It keeps track of:
- Machines: meter readings, service plans, fault flags.
- Tools and consumables: items, stock per place, serial-tracked tools, who or which machine has what.
- Gauges: measuring equipment and calibrations, by date, by number of uses, or both.
- History: every change records who made it (a person or their AI agent), with the old and new values, and most changes can be undone.
People use it from a browser on a PC or phone. AI agents use it through an HTTP API with an agent key, or through an optional MCP server. Bayline runs on one machine in your shop with Docker.
For AI agents
An agent acts for one person, with a key that person created. It can never do more than that
person’s role allows, and keys start as propose only: changes wait for a person to confirm.
Every write needs an Idempotency-Key, so a retry never books twice.
- Documentation overview: auth, roles, writes, proposals and undo.
- HTTP API reference: every endpoint, generated from the OpenAPI schema.
- MCP server: connect an MCP client, the tools, and auth.
- Machine-readable: llms.txt.
The public demo
This site runs a live demo with made-up shop data. Everyone shares one account (the sign-in page shows it) and the data resets every hour. Some things are turned off in the demo: people and logins, backup, agent keys and every agent-key (Bearer) API request, webhooks, shop settings, and photo and file uploads. There is no MCP server on the demo. To try the API or MCP with your own agent, run Bayline yourself.
