# Bayline > Bayline is a self-hosted shop-floor register for small machine shops, made by Fonnebust AS. It keeps track of machines (meter readings, service plans, faults), tools and consumables (stock per place, serial-numbered tools, loans) and measuring equipment (gauges and their calibration by date, by number of uses, or both). Every change records who made it, with the old and new values, and most changes can be undone. People use it in the browser; AI agents use its HTTP API with an agent key, or an optional MCP server. - Runs on one machine in the shop with Docker; used from a browser on a PC or phone. - Agents act for one person with a key that person created; scopes never exceed the person's role, keys are propose-only by default, every write with a key needs an Idempotency-Key, and changes are recorded as that person, marked as done by an agent. - A public demo runs at https://bayline.fonnebust.no/ (shared sign-in shown on the sign-in page; the data resets every hour). On the demo, agent-key (Bearer) API calls are refused and there is no MCP server: the API and MCP are for your own installation. ## Docs - [About Bayline](https://bayline.fonnebust.no/about/): what Bayline is and who makes it - [Documentation overview](https://bayline.fonnebust.no/docs/): HTTP API, agent keys, roles, idempotency, proposals - [HTTP API reference](https://bayline.fonnebust.no/docs/api/): every endpoint, generated from the OpenAPI schema - [MCP server](https://bayline.fonnebust.no/docs/mcp/): connect an MCP client, the tools, and auth ## Optional - [Full text for LLMs](https://bayline.fonnebust.no/llms-full.txt): this file plus the docs pages and the endpoint list - [Live demo](https://bayline.fonnebust.no/login): sign in with the shared demo account shown on the page - [Privacy notice for the demo](https://bayline.fonnebust.no/about/privacy) - [Disclaimer](https://bayline.fonnebust.no/about/disclaimer) - [Fonnebust AS](https://fonnebust.no/): the company behind Bayline
