Privacy notice for the demo
This is a public demo
Anyone on the internet can open this demo. Everyone who signs in uses the same account (demouser) and sees and changes the same data. The data is reset to the starting data every hour.
Please do not enter personal or confidential information
Do not type real names, contact details, customer or company information, or anything else you would not want other visitors to read. Everything on the demo is visible to everyone until the next reset. The people, machines and tools in it are made up.
What is logged
- Server logs. The web server records every request: your IP address, the time, the page requested, the response status, the referring page and your browser's user-agent text. These logs stay on the server and are rotated by size (three files of 10 MB per component), so they hold only recent activity and older entries are deleted automatically. A web server or proxy in front of the demo may keep similar standard logs.
- Sign-in records. When you sign in, the demo stores a session with your IP address and user-agent text. It expires after at most 24 hours and is removed at a reset after that. Failed sign-in rows (user name, IP address, time) are deleted when a later failure is recorded and they are older than 90 days. A quiet period keeps older rows, and a demo reset does not clear them. Request counters for rate limiting are kept for minutes.
- Demo data. What you change in the demo is recorded in its history, under the shared account name, not under your name or address. It is deleted at the next reset.
We use these records to run and protect the demo, not for marketing, and we do not sell or share them.
Cookies and tracking
The demo sets only the cookies it needs to work: a session cookie that keeps you signed in a security (CSRF) cookie that protects forms, and an appearance cookie that remembers whether you chose the light or the dark look. Your browser may also keep small display preferences (such as which columns a list shows) in local storage. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, no marketing trackers and no third-party scripts, and search engines are asked not to index the demo.
Reporting a bug
The Report a bug link (in the menu and at the bottom of every page) opens a form on
fonnebust.no, an external site run by Fonnebust AS, in a new tab. Clicking the link
passes only these details in the link itself: the Bayline version numbers (web and API), the page you were on (a
path such as /machines/:id, with no search text and no ids) and the mode (demo).
Bayline sends nothing to fonnebust.no itself; what the form receives is what is in that
link plus whatever you choose to type and submit there, which is covered by that site's own
notice. Nothing is sent from the demo unless you open the link and submit the form. Please do not put personal information in the report.
Questions
